What's this about "resets"?

I really hope I'm misunderstanding but this reddit post is talking about not only whether or not the game has P2W elements but also mentions "resets".

Sounds like they're saying that the game servers get wiped and you lose all your progress every now and then.

Surely that can't be true? That would be moronic.

Idk if you played Destiny2 or FF14 but essentially a soft reset is just everytime a new piece of content released the devs will increase the cap thus everyone starts grinding levels again as for what this translates for whales is the thousands they pour in ends up being irrelevant . Historically this game caused many whales to leave because of how frequent this soft reset happens.
