Do you prefer Paladin or Gunlancer
Just out of curiosity and because I have no character who is a warrior or who can give any kind of support to the group, I am pondering which one I should go for. From the looks of it Gunlancer seems a lot less popular. But they seem to be about as valuable as Paladins support wise. Or is my impression wrong?

I love my gunlancer, and I just made an paladin alt that is really fun to play too, but even if it's a true support I don't feel near as usefull as I do on my gunlancer.
the taunt, stagger, dispel/shield, tankyness, sinergy skills, it's incredibly usefull in a group and fun to play (if you don't mind the more clunky playstyle)
gunlancer all the way for me.

Late game you'll hope to see a "good" gunlancer. Pallys and bards are a given and you'll be happy to have either. But a good gunlancer will become a top favorite to have in your group

Also they are very different in what they bring to a group. Depending on content you'll probably have gunlancer and a pally/bard.

I'll take a good gunlancer 100% of the time over most classes

gunlancer is a dps class with 1 support skill + the taunt(interrupt),
but he is still a dps class
(no healing and less shields, no dmg buffs, no mana regen buff)

paladin or bard are the only real supports in the game (+ artist in korea).

Well Gunlancer's an indirect support.

The sheer amount of weakpoint/destruction, Counter and Stagger on their skill kit, along with the taunt, really does make a shocking amount of difference.

Paladin is much more a classical support with buffs, a solid counter game, shields and healing.:raven:

That is still more support than the other DPS classes bring.

True, though a couple of them can bring some really solid buffs. Heck, Deathblade can bring a move and attack speed buff. (20% to start with is a LOT of attack speed buff.) The moment I realized what that translated to in terms of team DPS I made room for it, because that's a LOT of burst.:raven:

Red lancer and Judgement pally. Both are equally fun to play.

Gunlancer is dps. Even the combat readness build that would be more of a tank is not the kind of tank we have in other games, the taunt ability is ridiculous, the most you can do is make the boss look at you. But I prefer to play with my gunlancer than my paladin.

The taunt ability stops most boss mechanics so idk what you're trying to say by "the most you can do is make the boss look at you".

I tried Gunlancer and only got about 2 levels deep before I stopped because he was so boring, slow, and annoying.
Honestly I wish I liked Gunlancers. They have some of the coolest armor sets and I think they one of the most useful bros to have in your party. Currently one of the rarest classes in the game as well.

For players that don't know Gunlancer (Blue) is one of the most OP and strongest class in any raids.

Well timed taunts, Nelia's Blessings, armor breaks, highest stagger. Strongest in any team comp.

Also CHEAP too to create actual impact unlike other classes, like Paladin or Bard.

What are yall talking about Gunlancer no damage buffs, it provides a flat and CONSTANT 12% armor debuff on enemy against both phys and magic attacks (if built for 'blue' attacks). That's insane. Plus the medium uptime buff on back/front attacks whenever he taunts.
In addition, the amount of DPS you get by simply having the boss' front face the GL most of the time is insane. No other class can provide that since front of boss = dangerous. Every time I play alt and see a GL in my raid/dungeon I know it's gonna be SO much easier than with pala or zerker.
The DPS even of a tank-built GL are still absolutely competitive because of Barricade engraving and he just. cant. be. killed. at all.
You can also build it for 'orange' (gunlance) attacks which is a high-tier DPS build that can STILL taunt in crucial moments and take more damage than any other class.

GL is insane for all group content and can clear any solo pve content semi-afk.

I main Gunlancer with a Paladin and Berserker for alts for now. Paladin is a lot of fun to play and I might switch down the road, but not right now. I made a Berserker for the sole purpose of feeding the other two mats.

paladin best support and the best pvp class
