I've played EQ, DAOC, and FFXI (among others). Camping spawns is nothing new to me. Took me 5 days in one spot to get my CHA stick in FFXI. "Fun" times.
I dont count any long spawns as 'fun' I was simply pointing out that spawn times in other games are far longer.
I used to be a "language teacher" on the boat rides through OOT: pay me some plat, and for the duration of the ride I'd spam group chat in the requested language to boost payer skill levels.
Well, one ride I had attracted the attention of another teacher and we had two full groups riding when a rando ran up from below deck just as AC popped on the ship's deck; rando had fled from a bad fight, clipped into the boat, and AC followed and popped on deck. Wiped out both parties before we realized what had happened and our corpses dropped into the ocean when the boat hit the BB zone wall.
I miss the jankyness of old MMOs sometimes. Used to lead to some great experiences.
