1. Huge AoEs, especially cones - if you are close to the boss they are easy to dodge. If you are further away it is sometimes impossible if you are caught in a bad spot.
2. Cast times. A lot of good abilities are casted and have travel time. And huge cooldown. If you miss your meteor, your dps is ♥♥♥♥. Some bosses jump so much it is difficult to hit them with these abilities.
3. AoE buffs. I don't play gunlancer/paladin yet but I believe they give shields in AoE around them. If you are too far you don't benefit from it.
4. Zero movement abilities. I think. As Assasins for example you can have additional movement abilities to help with your positioning. Sorc has only spacebar dodge.
I'm not really a meta player but I just noticed some classes are better for certain fights. Sometimes I do 40% damage, sometimes a berzerker does because I couldn't land meteors properly.
PS: Yet again, I speak as a more casual player. Not meta oriented.
The only problem is that it should not be the case in the western release since all classes are new here.
