Uhhhhh Tooki Island?

Sooo, the "gUiDe" says "visit Tooki island". No mention that it's an event. No mention that there are four locations. No mention that I have to wait FOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HOURS if I miss it.

I just want this broken down:
The internet claims that when the event timer triggers, you have ten minutes to enter the island.
I have also heard that a vortex swirls before the trigger, but nobody says how long the vortex goes. Is it ALSO ten minutes before the trigger? Can the leader of a group port everybody in? Can I safely ignore the the guide mission without stifling progress to other guides?

- Use the toast notification thing or the procyon compass (widget under the minimap) to look up when the island spawns (schedules, can also use the gear icon on the left notifications once you've expanded them to get a detailed schedule breakdown per category)
- Use the search function on the world map (W) to find the potential spawn locations for the island (they'll blink for a while when you press the magnifying glass button after putting the island name in)
- These will be the POTENTIAL places the island can spawn in for real (4 total in this case). When the time's up, the island will appear in one of these 4 places
- 10 minutes prior to the spawn time, the location where the island will spawn for real will have the whirlpool active TILL the island spawns (till 10 mins later, as per the schedule)
- The actual spawn can be 3-5 mins late
- The island spawns in the whirlpool's place and once it does you can enter it
- You can spend about 30-35 mins on the island before it forces you to leave (this only applies to these temporarily opened islands, there's a 3 min warning message and countdown)

- AFAIK parties can't port people in, but there might be a guild upgrade that lets guildies do that
- This island isn't crucial for anything later, it has an island token and some other collection rewards but can be put on hold till later. I'd just visit it whenever I was near it when it was close to the spawn time

It's a lot to take in at once but once you know how to use the map search and follow the schedule it gets a lot easier. (Don't use the timers on the maps themselves, they're mostly inaccurate for this kind of stuff.)
