What a shame. So much potential.
So this game is a lot of fun to play... up to a point. I like the combat, there's a lot of content, the bosses are fun etc.
What a shame that the game design is:
Lure them in early -> Get them invested in the game -> Eventually make it so mindnumbingly frustrating and time consuming to progress further so people will have to either do it as their fulltime job or pay to progress.

Spamming the same stuff over and over and over every day on all character slots if you want to keep progressing is not fun. Other games earn plenty of money by making a fun game, getting people invested and just having cosmetic or QOL items cost money. I really hoped they would have adjusted their design to the west and done that, but sadly not.
I really wish the game had a different design, because it has so much potential.

I've decided to quit the entire PVE part of the game and just play PVP. Thank god for equalized PVP at least!

"Okay, qq, bye bye". Yeah, yeah, I know.

You're right. I agree with all of your points here. I hit tier 3 and the progression wall is real. You maybe get like 1-2 item levels a day. I don't see myself playing this much further at this point. It was at least fun getting to tier 3. I got mindnumbingly bored trying to get alts up. It just is not fun at all. Also, doing chaos dungeons for the 500th time is just driving me mad. It is just a boring piece of content. Most things just feel like a slog and a chore in the game.

Put in 227 hours and reached tier 3 before I realised the numerous daily systems with alts etc, just felt like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ job and I wasn't having fun. Knowing that people can spend cash to bypass all the headache didn't help either. I do enjoy the combat though so I'll hop on every now and then for the pvp at least.

Well this is kinda just like how most MMO's tend to be end-game. It's just a big repetitious grind. Literally the only thing not repetitious about a MMO is going through the main story for the first time. lol. Not sure what you expected from end-game content, but this is pretty much the status quo for all MMO's at end-game. This is one of the reasons I'm not that big of a fan of MMO's, or playing them much longer after I complete the MSQ, until they add more MSQ to play.

This is not how most MMO's are end-game. I really doubt that you understand how it is. Where are you right now? Are you at T3?

This game is designed to make it so frustrating to even succeed at honing your gear after spending COUNTLESS hours grinding it that you end up spending money to progress instead.

YES you got it 100% Thats what this game is all about. I even think they make first all this Kind Manipulation and THAN Build around it. Sometimes feels like it.

That's how P2W games works.

I got to end of tier 1, where you have to get to 14 to +15 and I noped out.

Having to do dailies weeklys daily dungeons weekly dungeons daily raids hourly islands world bosses, story quests etc etc then have to do it on alts aswell only for gear to still fail is obscene. People say it's even worse later at end of tier 2 and in tier 3.

It's a shame the dungeons and raid bosses are fun, everything else is tedious work that feels like a job to let you progress in the two things that are any fun.

I'm glad people start realizing that bland questing leveling + 100% time gated end game is the worst game design for any type of game.
The more people stop playing this type of design, maybe the less the gaming industry will develop it...

Yes, you know funny part, you can easy change this. Like lets say you need 3X of the Upp Stuff but allways 100%. You know why they dont doing it? Its not Addicting enough! THATS why they not doing it.

game is heavily p2w anyway.

For me the biggest problem is the overall tuning of many parts of the content. A lot seem really overturned for PUGs, so i basically only play chaos dungeons now, as everything else is just to much luck based to even have a chance. And you can see that they have difficulty levels for dungeon, though i am unsure who that is for. I am also really confused why the don't use any of the level dungeon at end-game in some way. This would not only add a lot of variety, but also, with scaling, make it possible to actuality do them while leveling (line ESO does). It feels like there are 2 totally different games, the leveling one and the monotonous end-game grind, designed for two totally different groups of people. And i can't see either group being big enough to keep this going long term. At this point i would vastly prefer a single-player only version for a fixed price to this MMO.

It's good that you learned this about Lost Ark. It's a skinner box game.

And No, this is NOT how every MMORPG is designed. People who say that are very delusional.

The difference between a normal MMORPG and Lost Ark design is like the difference between hanging out with your friends playing poker, and playing a slot machine game with a poker theme. The purpose of this game is to trick you to keep giving it coins.

Welcome to mobile games. This is what Lost Ark is - a mobile game - and I am glad people are realizing that.
