Do you get bsod with other games too? Could be that you cpu is shutting down after reaching a certain temperature.
None of those have anything to do with hardware going bad. It's bad or corrupted drivers and incorrect memory management settings.
Biggest killer of computers is unlimited fps without any safeguards
VSYNC/limited FPS/Full Screen / NVIDIA limit are all needed to stop these

Thirdly, did you have any issues before this? When one of my video cards started to die i used to see glitches (like zombies that broke apart in d3 having textures all over the screen, but getting worse over time) it was the 3d adaptor on card dying
Was the game the "cause" of the problem? No.
As others mentions hardware fault is through the "property" itself, which should ALWAYS have safety features built in - so it doesnt burn out etc.
