Streamers that say "i wasnt paid" are just being ambiguous

If a streamer says "I wasn't paid" I imply that to mean they weren't sponsored by Lost Ark or Amazon directly to showcase the game on their stream.

They're still streamers...you're a moron if you think they care about you at all further than your wallet and view, of course they're going to do what generates those two things for them. It's their job.

The difference is, being sponsored usually involves a contract that says you can't trash the game while playing it - and even if it doesn't have that clause you'd be a moron to trash the game you're being paid to play and blacklist yourself from the industry.

The difference between how a guy like Stoopz portrays the game and a guy like Asmongold is night and day.

Promoting a game with a sponsored deal and streaming a popular game is completely different thing. For sponsored content you need to be fair to your deal, can't say this game is ♥♥♥♥ and do your best to highlight good side of it in order to promote for your audience. If you're not sponsored though you can basically do fair warnings without any issue or just quit and play something else without waiting any time limit. Because streamers getting donations and subs it doesn't mean they need to shill it. There are many streamers who's more harsh and fair than every "game reporter" or "award jury" combined.

They aren't paid by the devs in most cases (unless its like Raid Shadow Legends lmfao). What their viewers gift to them has nothing to do with the devs paying them. Usually when a stream is "sponsored" by a dev, its those drops, you watch them for a few hours and you get free stuff in game, that is their sponsorship. It gets them more and new viewers, which some may sub, even prime subs is an extra dollar in their pocket that month.

You mean Michael „Shroud” Gresziek but after getting his paycheck his review changed that's how it is always people think, Twitch Stars know it better, in the End try it yourself and judged don't let them say to you what you like or don't like.
