If that's a problem then that's a different story but i personally dont have a problem playing the opposite gender because i dont feel odd around them. I have someone that plays paladin because they love the concept and the gameplay but dont enjoy the armour or the "shape" of the character because they just dont like huge muscly men. They got phased by it a little every so often early but after a while you're not there to stare at your character and it kinda became the realisation that this is a video game.
Yeh and the first for western lost ark that is fem zerker will be out at the end of 2022 no?
Really isn't Striker better in pvp and endgame that Wardancer in korean/japan and ru version?
Male gunner isn't better, he's relying to much on back attack to compete, so maybe in a perfect world when you can land everything perfectly you'll do a little more damage but overall he's not as reliable as the female version.
Striker male version as I understand is less useful as the female version, female version has better buffs in a full party.
* It's more of an Asian thing overall; lots of games over there gender-lock this or that. FFXIV, for the longest time, had whole wardrobes full of gender-locked clothing.
* While I agree with you in general about freedom of customization, the rationale offered gives me great pause. Even as a roleplayer, that level of projection onto one's character can manifest some pretty serious context/reality issues. This might actually be a good opportunity to roll a female and tell yourself "that's not me, this isn't real".
but otherwise they are both viable. im not as knowledgeable of the striker as i am with those. but you just described the female as more support and male as more damage. which, is a different playstyle and not weaker. it's like saying bard is the best class ever because it has some of the most support.
People could very well not know about it and second them working on it has no relevancy over why its not in from launch.
