You are correct. Abyssals are terrible, but so is the Guardian Raids. And this forums will prove why.
I didnt even read the replies yet, nor do I know what will be written after. but I BET, it is something like "git guud", or "find friends", or "use party".
here is the deal, for all the whiteknight trolls who may or may not contribute.
1- Guardian raids list a MINIMUM Level. MINIMUM. This means you Know your class (doubtful), Know your build (super doubtful), Have the stats/engravings/gear to fulfill that build (absolutely not), understand the mechanics (Nope.. for sure), and HAVE A Decent roster book. Simple as that. So when it says 420.. And you get 3 scrubs at 420-426. and they expect u to carry them at 500 IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY.
The scrubs die 4 times in the first 3 minutes MAXIMUM. And now the 500 and PERHAPS a pally, or gunlancer (who can survive) now need to 2 man this 420 Boss alone. It doesn't work that way. The 500 is now doing tons of DPS, and drawing all aggro, and thus all stuns and CC. So he takes ALL THE ATTACKS. and dies.
TLDR: DO NOT queue at 420 unless u REALLY know what you are doing (you don't), or have a stacked account (roster book, collectibles etc..). Which 99.9999% of us do not have yet. "bruh i did it at 420". No you did not, you were CARRIED at 420. probably by TWO much higher level dudes who could handle it. You were a liability, and it would have been a million times easier if you were NOT there, since u died so much.
2- Abyssals have the same issue. IF YOU ARE NOT a bit higher (say 40-200 points higher).. then you are TOO LOW. Not only that.. But watch a youtube. Please. Watch it. Some take 3 minutes to watch. I know, I know.. all the scrubs writing "dis game been too ez, i quuitz it" Confuse you. THIS GAME IS NOT EASY once you are past the training wheels (ilvl 302). You need to understand what is going on. In Abyssals (and for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng time after you start doing them) the Bosses have certain mechanics, that cause INSTANT party wipes/fails. Or just downright Griefing. If you do NOT know the mechanics you are LESS THAN USELESS, seriously. it is better for you not to be there. I'm not being evil, I'm telling u. If you click WRONG orbs.. and its a party wipe. the party would have been better off with 3 people. if you DO NOT know to click such n such orb, or stand by that orb, or run from that wave.. or back up here, then get close FAST. etc. YOU are a problem. It is no longer "button smashing" when u get to abyssals. you need to know what is going in. It is tiring to run MATCHMAKING Abyssals, try to type to the scrubs, to see if they know.. they all go "yeah yeah" and argue.. like in steam forums. AND KNOW NOTHING. Then its a fast party wipe. And/or Fail of the mission.
The early bosses are not hard, but they still require u to know what's up. GOOGLE them. Look at the name of the boss. Google it. Watch a 3-5 minute video. and Surprise your Rando PUGs. Show them how "L33T you be". or whatever.
As to "party". That doesn't work either lol. There are a million people in lost ark at peak times. Thats a lot. I am on US EAST and witness what I'm about to say, and heard same thing from US WEST players. That u click "party" in the Abyssal or Guardian screens, and the parties are all trash. Usually 1/4 or 2/4 You click to join it. They are flippin' AFK. Or you see a 3/4 click it. and it already closed. (the leader has to approve your request to join). This is on a very very busy server, during Lost Arks probably highest population era ever (in the future as well). tons of open parties, everyone afk.. and the ones who aren't are super super low level. and wont beat it anyway.
This is the state of abyssals, Learn them, or get used to people trashing u in Area chat. Soon your name will be remembered and it will be TOUGH to find end game parties. I already have 3-4 names I wont join with. (not bad people. just way too low level, and wont listen or try to learn).
~good luck. You'll need it if you spend all your time being contrarian in Steam forums, and button mashing. Enjoy the 300 Chaos Dungeons, That is YOUR end game forever. I'm sure.
<"your" is not referring to any specific person, and certainly not OP, since I 100% agree with him. Your/You refers to new people who don't wanna listen, but will CERTAINLY come to forums to argue. and Prove they know nothing>
Hopefully by reading this people can solve ALL their game problems.
A- queue the raids a bit later... if its 420.. hit it at 470. EVERYONE including you will be happier
B- For Abyssals, it is NO LONGER BUTTON MASH LIke Tyrion's cousin, Orson lannister. "Must smash the beetles". Learn the mechanics.
I've only done the first 4 guardian raids in groups, sometimes we kill it easy, other times everyone dies. I don't mind, it's a new game for most of us.
The guardian raids are still button mashing at lower tiers. (tier 1. where u are ). It's not the issue there. The issue there is people too low level, and die super fast, and take all three deaths allowed for party.. So now none left for the REAL people, for the rest of the fight.
And yeah, ALL MMOs. have where the mob has priority "usually highest dps" But some, like Warhammer Online and a few others also placed HEALING up high as well. The bosses took out healers.
All I know is if you are 600 and a deathblade, or shadowhunter. You have way way way better gear than the 340 guy.. and when u guys fight that boss. The Boss ALWAYS chases the 600.. always grabs him in his claws, ALWAYS targets his CC/stuns on that guy. Sure it spreads the love, but if u ever die early.. and can watch a match.. watch the AI go for Big DPS first.. especially after they ULTI.
As to the other mechanics.. Not sure what you are asking. But yeah, before you do abyssals. I beg u to watch a video of that boss. Then the next one etc.
First few bosses aren't super fast party wipes (but yeah the second one, can insta wipe you guys if u mess up the mechanic). but as u go farther it gets worse. you REALLY need to know what the bosses do, and what they WANT u to do. It's not like "oh boss gonna crouch now,, soon he dives into ground.. better jump".
No it's more like "boss crouches,, hes at 8 bars.. now he gonna Blue target someones head for a DoT, that stays until his stagger bar (bosses) is gone. The Target needs to run to corner of map fast.. or the DoT will soon cover whole battle field floor. Now that we got that out of way, we gotta watch floor for new mechanics. Is it red? ok, cool all split up.. You take four cardinal directions, click RED orbs only.. Cool. we made it.. Opps its red again. Do it again.. Now its white.. ok all spread for white.
Now, he puts some New target pip on us... Ok we need to click an orb to get rid of that, if we get 5 on any one person party wipe. So we need a plan of who gets the orb in order.. etc...
And this is a very very very very basic Abyssal fight lol.
They get lots lots harder.
(PS I combined mechanics from a couple bosses in above example, to show Movement mechanic as opposed to just orb/wave mechanic.. but u get the point)
It is random. Gunlancer has a taunt that lasts 5s or so, but other than that aggro is mostly random.
First of all i agree with allot of things u said but also i think ur going a bit far yeah the game gets hard, yeah u should look up mechanics before hand, yeah it allways helps to go in better prepared with ur gear/build ect but theres allot to learn also its a brand new game and prob allot of ppls first mmo they actually liked, plus the fact that it gets so unforgiving so early into the lv 50s and the only way to progress is to run this stuff it might be to much for the casual player for multiple reasons, ohhh this person got carried ye kinda lame if their not willing to invest in upgrading more or look up the mechanics or what ever the reason may be but who the hell cares i dont lol on the flip side u carried someone whos just getting unlucky and just not their day (it happens, fat finger cough lol) weather they say they know the deal or not,is it such a sin to help other players out in a online game lol, looking up a guide and playing it out in person are 2 differant things u only get better by first hand experiance,u expect ppl to go in everytime and do everything flawless just cus they claim to know the mechanics and beat it like once or twice before thats not how it works 50% of the time accidents happen it is what it is,plus its not like ppl can practice this stuff and run it non stop until its beaten into their brain because of the cap limits, ive played allot of mmos in the past and its attitudes like that that can literally put ppl off even attempting certain content because they dont wanna deal with the abuse regardless of them being good or not, most players are more than capable of beating the content but some ppl just learn and get better faster than others !
I too play the MMORPG genre to play by myself
My first reply in this thread, listed an hour ago.. and I quote:

Literally all three of those have been said. LMAO.
Steam.. Smh. So predictable.
I see cool, it sounds like the kind of content you need to read a guide for beforehand (like most WoW Raids etC), otherwise how can you know how to respond in advance without wiping with people?
