Whats the difference between the blue gems from tier 2 and the yellow ones from tier 3.

If you're in Tier 3, the blue ones effects get reduced by 50% so you want to replace them when you get a better Tier 3 version.

Correct, you cannot fuse Tier 2 and Tier 3 gems together. Tier 3 gems can only be fused with other Tier 3 gems.

What do you do with the old gems, the blue ones. It seems hard to sell those.

Yea it can be hard to sell them, I was able to sell some for 200-400+ gold a few weeks back not sure how much they can go for now though.

You can keep upgrading them, and dump them on your alts. They just need to reroll them into something for their skills.
