Failing till 100% honing rate?
So i tried to upgrade my armor (T3 +11) and i failed about 10 times, on the next try it went up to 100% chance. I went online to see if that happend to anyone else but couldn't find any post about it. Could someone enlighten me?

2 systems

honing rate which is % chance to get through this time

Artisan energy (hidden in text on the screen if you look for it) which builds up each 'fail' on the item and makes it way to 100%

If the game tells you before you click hone that this chance will add 25% artisan energy and you are currently at 0% artisan energy, then doing 4 fails will take it to 100% artisan energy which is when you get a pity upgrade for 100% chance next shot on the item (its item specific and goes away after you get the upgrade or if you gear transfer)

You basically want to get 25% artisan energy each shot (might need breaths/tomes to get to that) so you can get it in 5 shots on a piece, otherwise if you get to 99% artisan energy you're still at the mercy of failing the upgrade one more time before the 100% kicks in

It's an extremely poorly documented system (the whole honing UI sucks)

if you fail something often enough the Honing Rate goes up to 100%. Everything normal here.

Dunno the exact Conditions tbh.

When you artisan energy reaches 100%, it will automatically make the next hone guaranteed to succeed. You gain artisan energy when a honing fails.
Think of it like a pity bonus.

Thx didnt see any post about it. Atleast i dont have to fail 50 times to get to 100% success rate.

Crazy I failed similar times but did I come in here in cry about the game ? nah. Did you ? yea. Is it apart of the game ? yea. Are you still playing a game you dont like ? yea. Leave the game ? For me ?

Quick to jump the gun and not read the post eh.

The op isn't posting about bad honing or anything like that, they were wondering why the honing went to 100% instantly and a mechanic in the game to eventually give you an upgrade.
The artisan energy mechanic isn't really explain'ed MUCH in the game (its only mentioned i believe in the tutorial/training section off of the NPC in the training area for the gear honing tutorial.

There isnt a single complaint about the game or honing rates, i simply asked if the success chance gets to 100% if i failed enough times (10 times). So i was suprised because i see post about so many ppl complaining about the rates. I think you just read it wrong.

I went from 10 to 15 on 2 gear pieces and only failed like 15 times total

You must be pretty lucky with previous honings not to notice artisan's energy rate going up to 100% after failing multiple times. I think for Tier 2, you need to fail like 5-6 times to fill it.

Also, if you use add-ons and fail, the artisan's energy fill up rate will increase more.
