Trouble picking a main
So, I played the beta and really loved the game, I tried a few classes, but the 2 that stuck out to me were deathblade and shadowhunter.

Now, here's the problem I'm having, I enjoyed playing deathblade more ( not saying i did not enioy shadowhunter ), but I think the platinum skin for the shadowhunter is way better.

If there's any experienced players that can give me some tips, what class do you consider nicer to play at endgame ? I got deathblade to level 50 in the beta and did some of the endgame content, and shadowhunter only to lvl 35 before I ran out of time, so, I didn't have the time to truly try shadowhunter.

Not trying to be rude but whatever people tell you, will be their experience not yours.
As far as I know the skins comes in a chest which you can open on whatever char you want, so just play around with both until one becomes your favorite and open the skin chest then.

This. All the answers you will get will be the posters own subjective opinion.
Just because someone says x class is more fun doesnt mean that you yourself will think so.
Try the classes you are interested in, make up your own opinion -> pick main.
Good luck and have fun.

All classes are good, it's really had to recommend one of them. The best thing to do is to just try those that look cool to you out and then decide. You'll be fine.

And don't worry about the platinum skins, you get much better skins than most of the plat ones down the road. :)
Asylum Feb 5, 2022 @ 12:51pm
don't use the plat skin if u care about the character it gets locked onto until u get lategame, and choose a main. Dont value ur class off of skins either, this is the dumbest ♥♥♥♥ u could do lol. Play ♥♥♥♥ u find fun, why do cosmetics matter at all in a mmorpg like this.

Like i don't think alot of ppl realize yet that the regions that have this game spend irl money on the gold ingame the majority of the time to skip grinding, not use it on skins

I can't really comment on Deathblade or Demonhunter because I didn't play with them during the last CBT.

What I can do is provide some resources that will hopefully help you make your own decision.

Yep that's the "problem" with Lost Ark. Picking a class is hard because all the classes are cool and all of them are different from one another.

I'm thinking gunlancer but not 100%

people like playing characters that look good, just because you dont value cosmetics much in an mmorpg doesnt mean other people dont, theres a reason cosmetics are really popular in any game...

i 100% understand your point thou, cosmetics dont = fun, and should most likely prio fun over that, but for a lot of people, cosmetics are part of the fun. just because you find it the dumbest thing ever, doesnt mean that's how other people feel.

Gunlancer ended up being my pick after looking at a bunch of classes because it kinda does everything. It's super durable, debuffs, taunts and stuns monsters (even bosses) all while doing respectable burst damage. You can even shield your party members.

It's a pretty great class, assuming you don't mind being slow and learning how to use the class's back hop.

Don't play a class cause someone else says it's good. It goes without saying that everyone's play style is not the same.

A person's play style could be more towards melee classes. While someone else play style could be more towards ranged type classes. Then you can't forget about the support classes.

All ways pick a class that look's good to you and fits your play style. My self I'm going with Bard as that fit's my play style.

Yeah, I have no interest in Bard or Pally and I’m already nervous about being excluded from groups.

The next 2-3 classes to release need to be support. There’s just not enough support playstyles to make most people interested.

a good example is WoW Classic before it was wow classic, before transmog. People wore the ugliest mix/match of armor bcuz it was BiS, people who do high end content etc, tend to not care about what the character looks like. OFC cosmetics will always be a thing but Basing your class pick off of cosmetics alone is a dumb thing to do.
Soeki Feb 5, 2022 @ 3:04pm
Play them both and save your skin for later.
You could use the knowledge transfer on your second class and have it ready a week after you hit 50.

Why is it dumb? A lot of people care more about their character's appearance than min maxing numbers.
