More noise and rant about the game Character Naming Rules

Those "Character Naming Rules" should be studied in the future as prime example of bad design decision.

I never understood the obsession with names, unless you are a content creater. nobody cares about the name of you character other then yourself. people care about progress, being names "sdfvsadfasf" with good gear/raid knowledge will get u more respect then a guy with a "cool" name

With those region restriction even the "sdfvsadfasf" can be taken already.
RP in a RPG is for a role playing, and soon will see how much players will care about when they have to put some stupid name that will annoying them the whole time, because they will see it none stop.

Exactly, and I don't care what others think about my character name. But for everyone of us make decisions based on what they cares, not what other cares. And I'm pretty sure that a lot of players will care if they have to go with names that annoys them.

They should allow copy names, like multiple John and add a number to the end like John#34452 and the number should represent your account.

They should make people use a first and last name thereby allowing multiple John's that don't have the same last name etc.

They should also let names become free again when someone deletes their character after a few minutes time.

This would make at least a little sense if it was a limit on account names and not characters, but few regions plus free to play plus loads of alts for the average player means a real potential issue of running out of names. Therr are only so many combinations of up to twelve letters of one case in the alphabet. What does amazon do then? Just tell players to *redacted* until they feel like adding servers in a perpetual hardware shortage?

The name makes no sense to me for "yourself" because im assuming like 99% of players dont use nameplates and wont even see there own name. The amount of times ive played mmorpg's and forget my own acc name is so high, Esp when u use alts in the same game, i ussually find i remember 1 of my characters names and forget the others. but i could care elss about any of the names.

And I think that your assumption is to far from the reality. I will suggest to not argue now, lets wait just two days and see who is right.

People will call you Mystic and me Cabana. It's not a bad deal. Imagine having to name alts in the future or when another cool class comes, what will be the names left available.
