As we can do this with our Keyboard/Mouse software by changing one of the extra buttons to be G and then pressing that instead
Could you give us an explanation as to why that is? Seems like a trivial matter and most of us dont understand why a key cannot be bound to whatever we want in 2021, This isnt a game breaking issue but it would be nice to know.
As a programmer i most likely think they have hardcoded those buttons to all interactables and are not grabbing the keys from the key config.
Which means if they would want to change it so you can configure it they would need to change it on every single object.
If it is not this way the changing would be a trivial matter.
This. Please fix.
Make a Macro for G and bind it to whatever key you want,
Fix it.
I play using numpad as you do, today I'll try to use controller instead of keyboard just in case they never fix it.
This made me laugh and groan at the same time! :D Gawds I hope this isn't the case, if so someone had absolutely no clue what they were doing. Interfaces, events, messaging, there are many ways to build an interactable system like this, but if they did this... I would be hard pressed to think of a worse way to do it. :P
