Not perfect, but should give you an idea at least to the Amazon Web Services: https://www.cloudping.info/
I play on the RU version and I play on the K server. If I switch to the second server, all of my progress and account bound items are not there.
For example, if you farmed all the extra skill points and adventure book progress, They’re not on the second server. So I would presume it would be the same for us between different servers.
Edit: Same thing with prologues and all that. Even if you’ve completed the prologue on your main server, it prompts you to go through the prologue on the second where normally you can skip this on the character select screen. You can, however, choose to skip the prologue once you get into the game. Just an FYI.
Lost Ark keeps things isolated by Regions. There is NA East and NA West regions, both are different. If you have like 3 servers per region, you can play with any player whitin those servers of the SAME region (you choose one server from NA East for example, so you can play with anyone within NA East servers), but you can't play with any other player from a DIFFERENT region (you won't be able to play with NA West players).
Thanks for the info, good to know this. So basically it’s old school, each server is completely isolated environment.
Ah, so the most accurate model is that there is an LA regional server that holds the region’s game accounts and other region-wide information, and that regional server manages a group of game servers that handle talking to the individual game clients being run by the players? So when you play, you pick the lowest latency game server to talk to, but all your characters are actually stored on the regional server? (This makes it easy to switch to another game server in the same region, say, if you want to play at a friend’s house in the same region, but moving between regions is like starting over.)
For the data centers, will our location automatically place us in the designated data center? For example, if I live in Tennessee or Georgia- will it auto designate me to an east coast data center?
Or do we have a drop down selection in the Steam client or Game client to designate what region we wish to choose from ?
Just curious, since if we VPN to play through the RU MyGames client and enter the LA client, it seems like we’re auto designated and we only have the two servers to choose from.
Not sure if I understood it correctly but I'll try to elaborate with an example
NA East has 3 servers
Server A (<-- you chose this server to start over your characters)
Server B
Server C
So all your account progress will be on Server A on the NA East region. Ingame you would be able to party with people across these 3 servers (A,B,C) and do dungeons/raids. But if you try to log in on server B or C you won't have any characters there or any progress on those servers.
and if NA West had like 3 servers
Server J
Server K
Server L
you wouldn't be able to play with any of these 3 servers (J,K,L) nor have any characters/progress on those either.
Hope that sorts out for you.
