Think of this game more like old school platforming game that also has Pikmin puzzles in it, which adds to the platforming in new, unique and fun ways.

There's no resource management like Pikmin (Growing more Pikmin, letting them grow for longer), no combat. You have 0 actual crowd control over the tinykin (right stick is camera only). They can't be cross utiltizied (reds can't help blues carry). The tinykin are just another shape of "gadget" used to aid in platforming and collecting. No day/night cycle, no limited timeline to complete the game. Outside of the visual comparison of a bunch of little colorful things following you around, it's a very different experience.

No feelings of guilt seeing little ghost pikmin floating off to the heavens.
