Greetings! It's a shame! This is the only 4*4 gun in the game so far! At least 2 pcs. 2*4 of a similar type will give total damage 1.5 times higher. There are simply few such barrels (or rather, they are rarely sold), but they cannot be produced. It is not clear where to get the unicorn horn (*3). So far I only got 1 from the pirate base.
Oof! Thanks for mentioning that, I must have spent an hour trying to get it. I wish they wouldn't include it in the story roadmap in the game if it's not fully implemented yet :/
Greetings! In general, I think that tying access to thrift stores to the plot of the game is WRONG! These are SHOPS! Their task is to TRADE! How can access to them be related to whether we have a company or not, or other similar plot details? We are privateers and our task is to capture/destroy enemy ships! Simply put, we are legal pirates! And the fact that we are limited in some way purely at the request of the screenwriter is strange and even offensive! I call it the “Procrustean Bed of the Script”! I can understand the key tasks. Do this and you will gain access to our capabilities. But I can’t understand the situation - complete the NPC task from your guide and we’ll talk! Thrift store merchants don’t even have to know about the existence of our manual! Moreover, from a certain moment we are formally independent. We were simply FIRED!
I wouldn't go that far. The special commission shops all belong to certain in-game factions. They're not purely about the profit, your approval with them matters too. Like how, for example, there's some countries the USA will sell jet fighters to, and some countries it won't. It's not just about making money, it's about whether they can trust you. And of course from a game-design perspective it's to provide tasks for the player to do to be accepted, which for many players gives a sense of accomplishment.
That said it is kinda frustrating that doing the quests to get access is gated behind story progress. On the one hand I understand wanting to gate what the player has access to early on, but on the other hand that's just one of the things with an open world game. The player can generally go anywhere, or almost anywhere, from the very start. Personally I'd prefer to be able to unlock all commissions once you form your company. If some players want to grind and over-prepare for the next parts of the story by unlocking the best shops early on and blinging out their ships with purple gear that costs more than the starting ships do, then let them.
