1500 Marines Exceeding Mach 8 (10,000 KPH) in a Meadow Harrier!
You don't want to get on this boarding ship's radar!:

Приветствую! Смотрю я на Ваши рекорды скорости и понимаю, что в очередное обновление бонусы двигателей порежут и думаю как минимум в 2 раза! Самое обидное - особого преимущества такая скорость не дает!

Greetings! I look at your speed records and understand that in the next update the engine bonuses will be cut and I think at least 2 times! The most annoying thing is that such speed does not provide any particular advantage!

What's the RPM look like?

For the Mach 10.2 version:

97.46 KPH in combat and only 0.36 RPM. (A little better than the standard 0.31 RPM of a newly built Meadow Harrier). Then again, I was testing cruising speed, not turn rate.

Fair. Was asking since I find it difficult to get into a boarding position if my RPM isn't at least .8, even relatively slow enemies can just turn or, in the case of Teutons with their ships' huge Maneuver bonus, just strafe out of range. Do you have this problem too, or have you found a way around it?

I don't really fight the Meadow Hawk in that engine configuration. Set up for Mach 10 or even Mach 8 isn't practical for fighting (or flying anywhere - you run out of fuel FAST). As you point out, the cruise engines aren't very maneuverable in combat. Also, your radar doesn't ping very often when you're cruising at that speed, so you don't even see any other fleets before you hit the next port.

I back it down to Mach 1 or so when I use it to board and it does just fine with the reactivity drives and speed thrusters. I don't recall the stats in that configuration, off the top of my head, though.

Currently, I'm running with three Monarch Eagles set in the Mach 1 configuration with max weapons/shield load-out, while I'm building more components for the Meadow Harriers to test.

Besides, with Monarch Eagles, I can capture anything the NPC's have (even the Leviathans and Jormungandrs) and still retain maximum firepower.

i personally dont care about maximum cruising speed at all because it wont help me to achieve any goal better than being slow and clumsy as long i can win any battle with force.
i design all of my ships only for combat and for nothing else in combat its important if you can stand and survive resistance because i suck at turning with my flagship very hard so i need to concentrate protected firepower with wide firing arcs as much as possible and let my escort meanwhile including agile fighters save my pretty back until i can bring them back to a broadside before my escort get them destroyed.
with destroyed engines your turning rate is always too bad all i care about engines is = are there armored or not because i am now busy to fight a lot battles to train all of the officers and they wont level up by flying past enemy encounters.
most of my time after passing half of the distance to the next destination for a main quest objective at least one officer had enough exp to level up but now they need something to level up that is nearest availabe in the opposite directing i was supposed to go and rinse and repeat.
after i had discovered that a single tank is enough to refuel just over time the entire fleet i rarely need to replace anything else than a few killed crews member as there are items to regenerate ammo and repair parts as well.
so some thruster space had to be replaced for more shield generators to compensate my clumsiness.
also stil 2 officers left that i was not able to recruit because not finished enough from the plot so dont have time to fly so fast the next days but i believe it would be fun without the need to feed a bunch of bloodthirsty officers.
but i learned to enjoy to enable moderate cruising speed until no more than half of the fuel is burned to avoid negative moral then entering a battle and than let the freighter resupply the fuel at fleed speed the last part of the journey saves enough time and money compared to of my old habbit of using no cruise speed at all as i had done foolishly before without that crystal thingie and other gadgets on a freighter enabled.
but i believe there are almost unlimited different ways to have fun within this game even incomplete now.
i would become dizzy after passing 200 mps and that is i believe too dangerous to fight for me on speed with all that quick and sail thingies.
