Treasure Ship (Spoilers)
I can't get past the Pirate Treasure ship for bluefields. The shields are too OP, and their weapons shred my ship, all my weapons get disabled, and even when I mount a shield of my own, I can't do anything. I've tried grinding and getting bigger, stronger ships and nothing seems to work. I've even restarted the game in hopes maybe I missed something.

The difficulty jump from the other pirates to the treasure ship is insane and I can't seem to beat it.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I bashed against it for a while, then said ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and went down south to grab a Victory with a big ♥♥♥♥-you shield generator and some heavy weaponry.

That plus a couple of escorts handled the treasure ship without any significant damage taken.

on my previous playthrough I tried the Iron Drake, and I just got my butt kicked. Is the weapons setup/positioning for the victory good?

The devs created a good system. I like the fact that the faction sends a stroger ship at the player.
What they did badly is that ALL factions are enemies and ALL ships from the faction is stronger.
The devs do not want the player to fight enemies.

Oh yea, the keys are speed and range.

It's certainly not bad.

I think a major consideration is that you should, at that point in the game, be shielding your ship. Shields have a major impact on that fight.

im stuck on that fight too.
cant even dent the treasure ship while they totally shred me in just a couple of volleys.
do i need to buy a different ship? what kind of weapons should i use against shielded enemies?

This is the first encounter, I think, that really needs you to explore/upgrade a bit and then return.

You'll either want two decent escorts, a frigate, or both. I strongly recommend shielding at least your primary ship.

Personally I beat my head against it for a bit, then flew down to Everspring and picked up two Victory frigates. Outfitted them with shields and heavy weapons. Emptied my funds, but the fight was cake after that.

I had no problem, used my starter ship from the Republic. The starter ships are not equal. The republic's is very fast and can hold a pretty good weapons load out. Fast enough that you can stay just ahead of the enemy, out of weapon arcs and range, while peppering them with those lovely repeaters it comes with and rockets.

My biggest gripe is the spawning system. I'm constantly having to dodge level 32s and level 22s and stuff while I have a ship that has zero chance of succeeding. They always spawn super close to me, and god forbid if the cruise drive works to let me get away. I can't for the life of me to get the damn thing to trigger when I NEED it to turn on.

You can use Rodrigo's ability to increase range and pepper them out of their range. You will need shield and some weapon upgrades though. Also, point-defence guns are lifesavers.

The only way I've found to fight "superior" ships is to outrange and outrun them. Ironically the Veridian starter ship is amazing for that. Lots of rockets, lots of speed. Early ships that fight up close don't really have many options for fighting against stronger enemies.
