Shipping building comes with virtually no clue as to how to make it work. If you buy a new weapon, there's no way to compare it with existing weapons or whether it can be used, so it's buying blind. If there's a problem with a new part you get a mystery message--like clean up item in cargo--without a clue as to what that means or how to fix it. With all the elements in a ship, the tutorial is completely inadequate and in game information is not of much use.

Idk if its still the same but when u click on a part the parts of the ship it cant go on are red, i believe any other color means it can go there. I know what you mean tho, it is very lacking

"Clean up items in cargo" means you have more items in your hold than it has space. Before modifying a ship, make sure you have the space where the switched out pieces go.

for clean up you can also click on the "switch" button(dont remember the name but its under the item field in ship building menu) and transfer items to the storehouse. so its good to build at least the lv 1 storehouse when you want to change a big ship

Oops. Had space, just not enough. Thanks for the insight. Ship building still a muddle, though.

Where can I find blueprints? I just want to build aucerlian ships, but the only thing i found was to buy a complete heavy frigate in the comission shop. Should I look under other comissions?
Of course I can capture, but the point is to build one... especially crusiers, freighters and battlecruisers.

Other ships description will arrive soon. There's no way that you can build other ships except buying them at the moment.

About ship modification, you'll be able to access ship merchants and testdrive their parts in some patches from now.
