Luxor doesn't work...

...and it's becoming increasingly clear to me that it's never going to be fixed. When I click play, my little icon in the bottom right turns green for 2 seconds, and then closes. I've tried to run the program as an administrator, I've tried combatibility mode, and nothing has worked. The same thing happens with Luxor 2. What the hell. Don't release a broken game.

And this makes no sense, the demo worked just fine when I played it a long time ago. It's the same computer, same OS, same everything.

I'm having the same issue, sadly.

Try running a Windows XP virtual machine and then installing both Steam and then Luxor in it. That's what I had to do to play the thing.

Try to run the game using a Virtual Machine. The process is kind of difficult to explain and lengthy, so I won't go into details, but it solves the problem. Try investigating a bit about it if you feel like it.

I probably could, but I doubt my mother would bother to learn how to start and run a virtual machine.

Our daughter bought this game (as well as others) for us. We liked this one so when the Cpu crashed we tried to get it re-installed. No Avail So I re-purchased the game and installed it and played a few weeks/ The I had a bright Idea. I upgraded my OS. Windows 7 to Windows 10 So I lost it again due to a necessary "wipe". No help from Steam whatsoever. No customer service! Support is absent. I'm walking Good Luck to the rest of you!!

I looked into the files and found that it is related to a missing file. Go to your Luxor in your library, access your files for it and load the game starter from the directory in there to see the specific file. This applies to everyone that tries loading the game but after 2 or so seconds it stops. I honesty can't find anywhere a solution to restoring the file.

21-02-17 and I can confirm Luxor still won't start in Windows 10 through Steam. The link to the mumbojumbo.com website is dead... How sad.. I feel forced to pirate this game just to play it.. :/

Yup, I just bought Luxor and tried to play it on my Win 10 machine; no luck. What a shame! I used to love this game too...
