how does the addition of aluminium work with existing factories / maps? will the new ore be seeded in untouched areas of the map? i'm playing on armageddon on the "insane" start location and have basically most of the whole map in their original condition (besides the gold mountain next to it).
will there be documented changes for every recipe? which chains are mostly affected? are we talking "re-engineering half the island's production" or are we talking "smelters need a more sand / limestone" here?
We can travel to other islands already.
We have to fight other ships arbitrarily to get some random resources.
We could expand the mines found on other island idea to add interesting ways of introducing new materials, recipes and functionality.
Once the sea around us is discovered and all enemies defeated theres almost no need for the world map anymore, we could do something about that...
But NO! We're going to Space (because thats absolutely not a factorio/Satisfatory Bandwagon we want to jump onto, oh no)
Everything else about this update I am excited for. Genuinely. But the Space and asteroid idea seems an Update or 2 too soon for me.
I get you want an end game, and there does need to be a tangible reason to build a space rocket because its totally optional right now as there isn't really a requirement for it that I can see (Idk, maybe communication satellites to talk to/discover/trade/etc etc other captains and colonies in a similar position as us after the great disaster that lead to us needing to find a new island), but there's a Mid-late game that can be expanded hugely (particularly in conjunction with trains) that I at least hope there is still alot of options available on the road map - People working in the new offices discovering deeper and harder to mine resource seems, that will then need more specialised vehicles to be researched/discovered, for example.
One way or another, thank you for your hard work, and I am looking forward to the update <3
It would be really nice if you can also add these three things please:
- better and bigger/taller retaining walls
- and finally some extendible and rotatable stacker, so you don't have to remove and build it all the time
- a more detailed progress in the research system would be also awesome, so you can research for instance more advanced solar panels or a solar tower etc. with the space programm
I think every dev should take a careful look here how pricing policy can be done without having the customers feeling milked. Please never change that, and if you struggle financially in the future, I am sure people would pick up another supporter DLC with some cosmetics without a doubt.
Currently I am waiting for the update to hit, since I want to build an Island from scratch with trains in it.
(Also, windturbines when? Would be cool to balance another renewable, balanced source into the game. And fishing! Early game protein source, scaleable to world map Trawlers. :D )
My fear about the train-system taking away from other content was wrong.
amazing features, i like the lightweight version of the space station and im hyped to see how you will iterate on it in the future!
heck, no wonder you delayed the release of update 3 :D
I Hope there will be some much larger maps at the start of the next update to make trains feel more relevant. I read that it will be possible to create larger maps but i hope you bring some at the start.
would be cool to give ppl who already bought the game the opportunity to support you guys further. Some cosmetics or supporter packs idk...
Really love your game! Keep going the good work and thanks!
if you dont want to make it easy mode you can make it more random , like dwarf fortress where "traders visit your base" and you can buy some stuff or sometimes bulk buy some resources
even on apocalipse traders would roam settlements to make living
