quick deliver inconsistencies?
OK so I was messin' around in the giant crater. I've got a digger working on building a road down the inside wall, which is obviously gonna take forever. So I thought, how can I get a digger and trucks to the bottom so I can work both ends of that road...

can't place a vehicle depot at the bottom, OK, thinks I, obviously there are no resources down there yet. So I set out to build a conveyor, and lo, I can do that. Now I have a conveyor taking yellow beams down to the bottom. Still can't build a vehicle depot though.

There are some buildings, apparently, which you can't use "quick deliver" to build (using unity). I could quick-deliver all the mats for the conveyor, and for the storage, and when I looked into it, I can quick-deliver OTHER goods which aren't able to be transported to the bottom of the crater: for example I could build a small store which takes white beams even though there's still no way for those to get there.

A little more messing... I could quick-deliver for a chemical plant at the bottom of the crater. But I can't quick deliver for an oil pump, although I can for a pipeline.

Now OK I was trying to find a loophole so I could get trucks into the crater. Maybe that's not supposed to be possible - it would make sense from a realism POV. But you can in general Q-D to inacessible places like a pipeline in the middle of an industrial complex.

So: what do y'all think? Should we be able to Q-D to inaccessible points or not? It's kinda silly that I could build quite a variety of stuff in that crater, some quite advanced, yet I can't put a simple oil pump there nor a vehicle depot.

I have no idea why. But last patch they took quick delivery away for pumps.

Probably so we couldn't cheat on the Armageddon crater map :steammocking:

Well, got the same problem on Armagedon map. Looks like a cheat prevention, very logical. Otherwise, why to dig down there!
Would be interested to hear from devs.

The change was made with Update 2. Not sure if there's been official word, but it's almost certainly for that exact reason.

It's deliberately to prevent cheaty behaviour, where you place Crude Oil Pumps or get vehicles up to areas that you can't technically reach yet. You're meant to create an earthen ramp so that your trucks can actually reach the area.
