1 depot per train line?
I was finally playing around with it last night and eventually gave up trying to get multiple trains to work on technically one line. I have the in/out sections of the depot stretching out about 4 tiles. I then connect those to the first line (which is just a straight line stretching across a large portion of the map). I then split the line to be able to connect to a different line that runs parralel to the first line, but that's where things fall apart. No train will ever cross over to the new line. It just stops right before the split (junction) and that's it. Any stations I add are all added after that split to help avoid any other reasons for errors.

1.) Do I need to build a depot for every resource I want to be transported by trains? I know that I can get a train to go to multiple resource stations, but that eventually fails because one of those resources is always full at the unload station and therefor no other resources can be picked up because the train still has that resource on it.

2.) Why can't I get a train to cross over to another section of track? No matter what I do, I can't get a train to cross over onto another stretch of track. Even with no other trains on that line at all, it just will not move onto the split section. I make ALL sections of track bi-directional and not one way only.

I've seen a lot of threads with players having a hard time with the trains and I can be added to that list. Haven't really seen anything mentioned about this though, but I will keep searching in the meantime. I have yet to see a video addressing this either. I know trains are new and I hope more train tutorials will be out soon.

i gave up on it aswell mine keep honking the horn, but wont move from the station!, dont know why it has to be this complicated!
Hi although my trains work fine most of the time it's rare that a new line works first go, the issue i run into constantly is exclusive zone extending through sidings or right across junctions, in any other game with proper signals you'd be able to see that it was just a problem with a block signal assignment but I can hardly see that faint blue line don't know about you?
The solution is to make sure that the exclusive zones have breaks at either ends of the sidings, long sidings have multiple breaks and that there's a break 1 train length + a a bit either side of a junction.

Same here. it's still a bit of a mess yet. I kind of wish they had just given us proper signals like the trains in other games. Trying to make trains easier by not including them is just making things more complicated by not being able to see where the problem is.
