Assign Trucks to Dumping Zones?
Love the game so far, but I stumbled over an issue. I am in mid game now, and want connect to all the small island (playing on Armageddon). I created dumping zones to build bridges, which worked fine for islands close to my start location.
Now I have dumping zones further away. The issue is, either I have no other dumping zones, then all my trucks go to this far away zone, which leads to a breakdown of my logistic (learned it the hard way...), or I have other zones and no truck go to the far away ones, because they select the closest ones.

So I thought I do the reverse thing from mining. I created a mining tower, assigned a storage to be imported added trucks and created a dumping zone in the area. But the trucks just stand around and do nothing. I also assigned truck to the storage with the same result. Did I do something wrong, or is this setup not possible?

The next thing I would try is to build a storage close to the bridge, set it to import, connect it to a stacker, and set a mining zone to remove the stuff. Then these trucks should be choose the bridge to dump their load. But this sounds over complicated :/

Build a mining tower for mining -> set route TO storage (stone input)
connect storage (stone input) with storage (stone ouput, set on assigned only, set on empty)
build mining tower for dumping (dont assign trucks) -> set route FROM Storage (stone output)
assign trucks to mining tower for mining and storage (stone ouput)

ok I think I did every thing as you said (except set on empty, because you can't do that when you have a dedicated route). but it still doesn't work. here some screens, maybe you can tell me what I do wrong.

stone input:

that is connected via conveyor to the stone output:

and that has a route to the bridge build mining tower:

in the screen you can see the assigned trucks just standing around.

a) Make Mining Control Tower and set it up with your preferences.
b) Make Storage A, this is where units are imported/delivered to however you choose.
c) Make Storage B, have Storage B directly connected to Storage A, where input to Storage A is immediately given to Storage B.
d) Add Export route from Storage B to Mine Control Tower.
e) Set Storage B to Empty
f) Assign trucks to Storage B, not the Mine Control Tower.
g) Watch trucks dump material.

It's not mandatory to assign trucks to the Storage B.

You can set up dumping zone priorities with this.

Found it: You didnt set the output storage to empty.

Set it to empty to make it work. (move the red slider to the left.)

with "Set Storage B to Empty" you mean the red slider, right? Because when I do this I get a warning that a storage can't have a route and such a setting.

edit: ah just read your comment. Ok I'll try it and ignore the warning ^^

You can get past the warning with 2xstorage, one as an input connected by conveyor to 2 for the export.

If you are getting a warning, that means you haven't set it up correctly.

You are trying to Export to a Storage, you should be Importing from a Storage with your Custom Route.

The reason you can't set the Storage to Empty is because you have it set to Import from the tower.

You should be Exporting from your Storage -TO- the tower.

Thank you all for your help, it works now. I was stupid and set an import instead of an export route to the tower, force of habit...
