How do I get Diesel out of a Cargo Ship?

I'm still fairly early in this playthrough. I have a tier-1 Cargo Dock with my first Cargo Ship, andit has 30 Diesel in its tank. I have switched it to Heavy Oil in the Ship's UI, and filled two Fluid Tanks with Heavy Oil, linked them to the Dock with a Pipe.

But the Dock still says Diesel 0, and the Cargo Ship does not seem to want to rid itself of its Diesel, so it's not taking in the Heavy Oil.

This game was started recently, at least after update 0.6.3, probably after update 0.6.3a.

What do I do?

You haven't actually set the ship to the new fuel type yet. Next to the fuel selection button is another button (I believe it is two arrows forming a circle(?) from memory), click that button and the ship will replace with a ship that uses your selected fuel. This will also change the dock's fuel storage to the chosen type.

Do you happen to know if the 30 Diesel in the ship are lost?

I don't know for sure. It may get automatically added to a storage with open capacity or you might just lose out on the remaining fuel left in the tank. Probably the second one is my personal guess.
