Dumping compost?

The game seems to imply that I can dump compost straight to landfill.

But even if I put it into the global dumping rules, my trucks never do so.

I see I can turn compost into dirt, however. Is direct-dumping of compost how it used to work?

Go to the mining tower you're using for dumping, add Compost to its allowed to dump list. The trucks will then move it if there's any trucks available, if nothing else is taking priority. Just ensure the container is also allowing trucks to remove the contents. In some cases you may need to drag the "Empty" (red) bar for the container to the left so the trucks will recognize when you'd prefer to remove Compost from storage.

Should work fine if all is set up correctly... Be advised, though, that if you're a stickler for aesthetics, the grass that grows on exposed compost is darker green than grass on dirt. :)

The only thing to leave on global is trash. Everything else should be per tower or you may have unintended consequences.

I disable all dumping allowance in global, and then I control where dumping is allowed with Mind Control Towers. This also enables me to "dump pretty", so that I first dump a thick layer of "ugly" (Rock/Slag/Waste) up to 1 voxel below the desired height, then after that's done I dump 1 voxel thickness of Dirt on top of that, so that I get pretty green gras growing.

I realized what the problem was. It had nothing to do with my mining tower or the dump settings.

I had tree stumps from a forest I had de-treed and I forgot those block vehicles until they disappear.

You can dump compost???? i have 300 hours in this game and i didint know that....

I have a mixer to turn compost into dirt......

To be fair, turning it into dirt gives you more dirt than dumping the compost straight.
