Tree Planter takes farm before storage for seedlings

I have the issue that my planter go to other end of the map to collect 8 seeds for planting instead of using the storage that is placed next to the planter.

Is your storage set to always be full? If you try to fill it that way planter cannot touch the contents.

Something like that is most commonly where I run into those issues

Connect a storage to the farm, then set it to keep empty. That way your trucks will auto fill any other storages for seedlings, without logistics getting in the way.

My workaround for such situations is having a 2 storages next to each other (connect first outputs to second's inputs). The first is set to keep full, and the second is set to export to Forestry tower. This also solves many other logistics tasks, like having a dirt/rock hoppers next to the excavated area, so mining trucks load stuff in there and logistics takes it to the dump areas (first set to import from mine, second to keep empty)

I noticed this too, I built a small storage near the tree farm(s) that I set to import saplings from the farm. On the Forestry Tower, select imports and select that storage next to it, so it pulls directly from that storage alone. Also make sure you have the planter designated to that forestry tower so its not bouncing around multiple planting areas if you have them.

I verified this last night. I had the output of the storage next to the seedling farm set to disable output to trucks, and the Tree Planter ignored the setting and took stuff from the storage anyway. I also tried assigning a truck (with a path set from storage to storage,) to move items from that storage directly to the other near the Forestry Tower and the Tree Planter ignored that as well.

My temporary fix was to belt the seedlings from one side of the map to the other where my Forestry Tower was. I later deleted the storage at the farm and used only the really long belt to move the Tree Saplings.

I would say this is a Bug.
