Use Case For Thermal Storage?

What is thermal storage actually for? I'm pretty near end game and haven't once thought about needing to store steam. Am I missing something?

Going full solar power would be one case, to store energy reserves without the decay flywheels suffer.

People were building steam storage with pipes, I guess the devs figured they might as well add some proper way to do it.

Hmm interesting. Never really bothered with solar either, the space/cost/power ratio seems off to me. Nuclear all the way.

How do you get enough uranium to run nuclear only? The first mine says it will run out after 1000 years on lowest extraction settings. I would need to 3x it for full nuclear power.

As soon as you can build the fast breeder reaktor and the needed supply, your depleted Uranium can deliver enough Fuel for a very long Time.
My Playtime is 100h with Uranium Power Supply and my Mine is @93%

Besides mentioned breeders, you can also set trade route for uranium.

Foodpacks, gold or lab IV for uranium.
