Other than emergencies, I find all that stuff worthless. They're just not selling anything I really need. That being said, I realize we all play the game differently.
Just, it would be nice if trade was more varied. It's all the same plain vanilla nonsense.

In truth I was overstating the case yesterday. The bigger trucks and dozers come much sooner than Glass Smelting, so I do trade for glass until I get there, and trade is also useful for getting rid of excess wood in the early game.
