A base to build a base
This is going to be one chonky bus when I get done. Im three days into this playthough and I've barely just begun. The first thing I did was build the temporary base in the bottom right which will only be used for building the rest of my base. Next I laid dirt and rock lines the entire length of the base for the sheer amount of material I'll need to move around which saves a ton of fuel. I will update this post with progress or the finished design.

You can use a mine control tower to designate a dumping zone and filter it to dump a specific ore ore resource in that area.

I’ve been doing that, cleaning the ore by removing impurities such as rock and dirt to make for easier processing. I guess I need to zone my dumping grid squares better to get my piles to look like his

Each row is meant to scale. I am not limited to one furnace one diesel etc. I just need to move material away from the build area, stamp more down and output will scale to match line input. Late game I plan to bring in more resources mid bus with cargos.

To pile ore you just create a pile with a flat top then add another dump marker/pile on top of it. Im playing on Captain difficulty with all default settings.

Experimenting with the power setup you guys have suggested. I have two shafts with the generators set to different priorities. This seems to be working well.

I like it. How did you make the gravel paved road? Always like seeing other peoples builds here.

The road is a one square deep trench I dug out and filled with rock to hide the water pipes and get them out of the way

Bus is done building. This is as big as it will be at the top. More parts will be added down to the left as they are created. Starting to dig my way out. Beefing up biofuel and fertalizer before continuing since my farm space is limited

Expanding the canyon to make room for the bus and more farms. With adv oil, biofuel and fertalizer done the base feels very performant and the three 2 module cargos for wood, coal and oil have been keeping up well. After this post the base to build a base will be gone

First half of main base is complete!

I moved the farms, housing and power to the upper level as they were getting in the way. Plan now is to turn the bus, cargo more materials in, finish purple and add the farms and housing back.

Turned the bus, expanded the iron copper and steel smelting and cleaned up the dock. Im thinking I should leave the farms up top and worry about them later. Its all about the bus!

Going a little crazy experimenting with massive populations and farms. Im not sure I want to keep them all because of the high maint cost but Im sure I want to keep them there and just run lines off the bus to them with whatever they need.

What is your pop at?

Right now the base needs about 1500 for max operation but I got it up to 3200 and quickly ran out of food. Fun to play with the population and edicts.
Nice. It really is, especially on the more difficult maps. You have inspired me to create a full bus structure on my current curland save ^.^

Nice! I highly suggest setting up the bus where you have two lines next to each other on heights 2 and 3 then a space then repeat. So far its the only way Ive found to easily and consistently pull items on and off the bus.

I appreciate the brilliant tips :D
