Tip needed : dealing with Sulfur and slag
2 things I cannot deal with efficiently. that are Slags and Sulfur.
I have too much sulfur from Oil production and smoke. and too much slag production from smelters.

I cannot efficiently deal with the excess amount I'm generating. ofc I bur sulfur but I prefer not to.
is there a sink I didn't know of or missed ?
sulfur I am using sulfur as Acid - rubber - toffee - fertilizers. I still ends up with too much extra that I had to burn.
at least I can burn it unlike with slags ?
what am I supposed to do with all those extra slags. most of my slags are gone to ocean creating base coastline Level 1. but this is an escalating problem that I am unable to deal with.

Currently, the only sink for slag is crushing it, and then using it to make concrete slabs for construction parts I.
Other than that, you can only dump it.

You can reduce your slag production by using the improved furnace recipes using crushed ores, since those produce less slag relative to the amount of material produed.
And you can also use recycled iron, copper and glass scraps, since those recipes don't produce any slag, at all.

As for sulfur, you can use it to make tofu, fertilizer, acid, rubber, even more slag, or burn it. Not much else you can do about it.

Try setting up a 4 way junction just before you're slag hopper and set the main input to the hopper as priority, then direct another port to an outbound hopper and set it to empty , then set you're dump area to accept slag. they will empty it as it fills and the main hopper will keep it self full until it can't accept anymore then the 4 way will send it to the dump hopper. GL

edit : don't set the output to the dump hopper to anything , just left the 4 way direct it on it's own. GL

Eventually you get the ability to clean up smoke so it causes no pollution. You'll also get more uses for sulfur as time goes on. Overall just let the sulfur burn for now and adjust as more tech happens.

The best way to reduce slag is recycling. Set it up then get the edicts. At level 2 recycling edict plus recycling boosting tech you have 70% recovery rate. Smelting scrap gives no slag so it becomes a huge decrease in slag production.

Theres also the contract to trade slag for sour water which you can then turn into more sulfer which can be turned into more slag and keep trading

you can use your excess slag to build up your coastline by dumping it in the water

I know the problem too well. After my island has become too large and I could no longer dump anything into the sea, I have the excess sulfur I processed into slag. The advantage is that I only have to use my workaround for slag.

Because of the distance between the shipyard and my production, I have built loops by conveyor belt, three of them. They are designed to end near the shipyard and have a capacity of 2,500+ each.

Because of the short distance to the shipyard, it is sufficient to have a handful of vehicles free to empty the conveyor belts and unload the slag at the shipyard where I then simply remove the slag.

Start pilling it higher then, Make all your unused land from +2 to +10 with it.

How is this done...?

Just draw a flat dumping zone from your coast into the water. Slag should be set to dump globally by default, so your trucks will start dumping as soon as they have something to dump.
If you have slag storage, make sure to give them an upper storage limit beyond which the material will be dumped.

If you want more fine control over what is dumped where, you can use mine control towers, their zones of influence and their local dumping settings.
