did you not read the tooltips on how to dump things?
steholliday Jul 11, 2022 @ 7:37am
Set up a dumping area with a mining tower, expand the shoreline somewhere on your Island.
Then assign trucks either to the tower or to a full storage tank

Thats perfect was forgetting to assign truck to container and Yes @trien i did read the tooltips I have 9 ports so far

I use it to fill in the coastline for ports. Also for ramps to higher levels. What I don't get is people using Gravel for anything. You get Slag as a byproduct of smelting so at least there's a benefit. Mining through rock gains you nothing but full trucks.

Recycling doesn't produce slag. If you rock the edicts you get something like 70% recycling efficiency which means if you use the scrap you are getting 70% less slag. When I go in on recycling I typically end up needing to grind up rock.

Until you get perfect glass smelting, I think recycling glass give you some slag.

Dump the slag in the ocean or make a huge hill.
Later in the early game you can and should use the slag for cement

So all the slag I produce goes to this container. From this container it goes to the crusher to make cement. if it fills up more then 50% it is told to empty it. The crushers are set to import off. so the only thing requesting slag is dump sights. I dont even assign a truck to it. it does it automatically as needed.

You need gravel to make filter media.
Filter media is the best way to deal with waste water created by your population.
Filter media is the only way to deal with toxic slurry without creating water pollution.
Gold refining and nuclear power will both create toxic slurry.

Ah...makes sense. I'm not that far in the tech tree yet.

Once you don't have an area to dump it all, you can also build a loop by conveyor. After that, you just have trucks pick it up and you can put it in the ship dock. From there you can just remove it.

You have to build the loop in two steps, with this you can also guide conveyor belts into themselves, or you can use an balancer.

Hi SteHoliday
New to the game....
I've got loads of storage filled with slag. I've done what you suggested : 1. Put down a mining tower. 2 Assigned some trucks. 3. Designated a mining area over and area where I have indicated to dump. 4. Set the mining tower to allow dumping slag

Containers have "Truck Export" = On.

But the containers stay full of Slag and the trucks will not go and pick up slag.

Have any suggestions?

In the popup window for each slag storage unit, move the red slider "Empty" to the left. This will notify the trucks to try to keep the storage unit emptied to the level you set.
