truck / excavator upgrade
is there button to upgrade trucks or should I just scrap and build the new one?

Scrap. Be sure avoid Scrapping ones that are assigned to Mind Control Towers, Tree Harvesters or Logistics routes.

The devs recently added an "Upgrade" button.

However, it seems to bug out if I try to upgrade a vehicle assigned to a Mind Control Tower. The upgrade happens, but the new vehicle is unassigned, instead of assigned to the Tower. At least some of the time.

for me, upgrade works as intended, with kept assignation
