Game is failing to get installed or launch? Read this first.

If your game is failing to get installed or launch, this is most likely caused by antivirus or firewall software. We've had numerous reports from our community that some antivirus software is blocking or straight on deleting the main game executable "Captain of Industry.exe" and other files.

Please make sure that the game files are not being deleted or blocked by your antivirus software.

If you find out that this was the case and an antivirus was causing issues, it would be tremendously helpful to us and to your fellow gamers to report such files as "false-positives". To do so, search your antivirus name followed by "submit false positive" and submit affected files. For example, if I use "Avast" antivirus, I'd search for "avast submit false positive" and this website is the first result: avast false positive False Positive File Form - Avast[www.avast.com].

The game failed to launch because of "Disk Write Error" It worked well yesterday, I don't understand why it did that, but gonna work it out on my end.

My AVG Antivirus moved it to the vualt becouse IDE virus or something. how is this still happening?

And no i cant even reinstall the game. now the whole game has an writing error. OK whats going on?

What exact file and generic location should we "allow" if we have to manually locate and allow it?

Im having the exact issue. Trying to send Avast info, but I need the file or i cannot complete the request. Also, game worked yesterday, but I get a disc write error today.

Not an issue worth $30 spent on an early release game that as of now, I cannot access. And I have to correct the issue??? If I had a product that was intentionally or unintentionally being blocked by another company, Id be in their office raising hell, not telling my customers to deal with it. Following and waiting on a resolution. If its up to me to correct it... refund will be requested.

Depends where your steam folder is, usually it is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Captain of Industry". Any ddls or exe file (Captain of Industry.exe) blocked there will cause issues.

It annoying that the game file is quarantined but hardly the responsibility of the developer.

Yeah, I tried to add an exception in Avast but I think because I reinstalled it, the anti-virus now can't unquarantine it.

I have... somehow resolved this. I think what finally did it was temporarily disabling my virus protecting and removing the exception for Captain of Industry.exe
I think.
I tried the reinstall also while the anti-virus was disabled so maybe that is enough.

Superchimp.... Tantrum eh?? Far from a tantrum. Why spend $$$ on a flawed product? Expressing my opinion to maybe get it fixed?? Possibly input the dev might want/need to correct the issue?? If i have to install, uninstall, request an exception, update... repeat the same process again, etc... Why pay for that when there's many, MANY other games without the issue? How is that a tantrum? And since you gave zero productive input, why even reply to my post at all?? Hope you feel empowered and superior... If thats what you need.

I got some trouble also here, I can't launch the game, I tried to uninstall, Desactivate my Anti-virus, put an exeption, install on an SSD and an HDD, Restart my PC, Run as administrator, my graphic card is up to date. Nothing the game won't start
Please help !
