Alpha review:
I'm in awe over this game!
It scratches every itch I got from Factorio, with the same level of excitement!
The mail with the key was received on Thursday 21/10 and got over 4 hours in after "just checking" everything worked...
A surprisingly small install at this moment at about 500 mb, but that's subject to change as the game is more fleshed out.
After 13.2 hours of rushing through to find out that it works as advertised by Aavak and Aavak after hours on YouTube and Twitch, it's just like that and more!
Big shout out to Aavak for bringing this up for me btw, marvelous title!

You loose population if you start polluting heavily at the moment, so here is an incentive to use as much of every resource you handle in the game and plan to do it as light on pollution as possible (not dumping almost all Acid your Diesel production can produce into the ocean is a good start, losing so many colonists a month can really kill your game)
Much more game planned, the current quality and it's 200% funded Kickstarter gave me the peace of mind to purchase Alpha access to this game.
The mining system is so fun to watch and so satisfying to work with!
So many resources and products, so many different ways to tackle an issue I'm impressed!
The terrain can be transformed however you like, you can even expand your Island by dumping specific types of leftovers like dirt, rocks, bedrock or slag from smelting resources.
You can even create new farmland by filling out in the sea with rocks and adding a layer of dirt on top afterwards!
Here are issues to take into consideration like the possibility to soft-lock yourself if you're not careful, I've been close several times, but here comes the game's "currency" into play.
The Unity "currency" can you at the moment use to make everything you've researched instantly, you earn it by providing quality of life and goods to your colony and you use it to activate research labs, boost production and as mentioned to outright "buy" every resource and autocomplete any build.
Unity is limited to the size of your colony.
It has sped up my gameplay at several points and is responsible for me fixing my own errors in the game several times.
I got sucked in hard and did my 13.2 hours mostly at full speed because I'd like to see the progression faster.
Because of that (it's my own fault and I know it) I did stuff wrong and my possible soft-locks were down to my own rushing through the gameplay.
Do yourself a favor and check this game out!
