IT SEEMs nice I do give that and it does look nice and you dont even doubt that it will be counterproductive..
I would say learn renpy and stick with that for vns..
The Cons at this time are that there is a lot missing documentation in english and you need to experiment, try and fail. But expending some time you can figure out how to do things. More if you have some experience with other engines like RGP Maker.
Both engines have a lot of potencial, and has the state they are right now, you can really do a decent game.
And yes, they need improvements and updates.
It is very user-friendly (as for me), and allow you to make working prototype very quick.
It has some advanced functions, which make in Ren'py will require some extra coding.
The downside of this software - it lacks some functionality and not very flexible.
Also - some functions works somewhat unobvious, and there's still no full english manual.
Community tutorials is also very scarce.
So, to put it simple - if you have basic programming skills - then you better use Ren'py.
(Yeah - Ren'py is the best VN engine. No doubts about it.)
If you are not a programmer, and just looking at code gives you a headache - then this software can be good for you. Also, this software is good for quick prototyping.
But - if you are happy with VNM - maybe you should stick to it?
VNM has larger community (or so i heard - because i do not have VNM).
Well, I don't know exactly, but I think for quantity there is no problem to handle it, ...for quality maybe images need to be optimized since the highest resolution is 1920 x 1080 px
It is a program with a lot of potential and strengths compared to other VN makers, for simple novels I think it works very well, but to embark on a larger project without fear of being left in the middle, I think it is what remains to be done, in really trusting the program and being supported.
It's decent enough to make simplistic VNs but I was looking forward to updates with added features and advanced controls.
The dev team have been very quiet and even contact via direct email which used to put me in touch with a team member is now silent so maybe this thing really is dead now?
