GOW 2018 suddenly stopped working after years of playing

I've been playing GOW 2018 on my Laptop for multiple years now without any issues, completed multiple playthroughs completely fine but all of a sudden there's been a massive FPS drop and lag whenever I open the game, rendering it unplayable.
All of my other games like Elden Ring and Red Dead Redemption 2 still work just as fine as they did before, meaning the issue doesn't lie with my laptop itself.
I've tried lowering the graphics settings and uninstalling and reinstalling the game but neither has helped.
I honestly have no idea what to do here. As far as I'm aware, nothing has changed regarding my laptop's settings or performance in all other areas but GOW is just not working anymore for some reason.

Im having the exact same issue. I also have tried everything in my knowledge to fix it, including uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing works, and it is for sure not my laptop's fault

I have a 3080 and 5900x, I can run the game at 120 fps (capped) at 1080p almost constantly, But everytime I launch the game after my pc has been on sleep it's like 15-23 fps in the menu and like 10% gpu usage, I reinstall the exact same driver I already have installed and suddenly it works, only to repeat the next time I launch the game. NO other games I've ever played have done this, it's such a joke.
