God Of War not autosaving and manual saving not working

I have been playing GoW for a while and recently encountered an error in the saves while I'm playing. First of all, it does not autosave and when I'm trying to save manually, it appears it doesn't work. When I do it manually, it says that this will override my previous manual save, I obviously accept and then does nothing more. The manual saving keeps being the last I had. Moreover, when I die and the game tries to reload the previous checkpoint, it freezes for some seconds and then automatically shuts down the game. I have tried to update drivers, check the integrity of the data through Steam, and even reinstall the game, and still doesn't work.

What should I try to do? My last chance is to load a new game and see what happens but I would try to avoid losing all the progress...
