Game crash at Return to Summit Main Mission

The mission I am currently on and its description:
Return to the summit

At the summit of the mountain, we can finally open the brige to Jotunheim
The Black Rune and the Ston Mason's Chisel are ours! Now we just have to find a way back up to the mountains summit, and we can use them to open the bridge to Jotunheim

Go back through the tower.

I am terrible with map locations. I am able to load manual saves. When I start the mission you have to enter the building at the end of the bridge with the giant horn in the middle. I enter the room with the rift in the middle. If I decide to open the rift, the game crashes. If I skip the rift and continue on towards the mountain, it doesn't load the map as you get past the climbing part and then it crashes. Any help would be appreciated.
