Weird black visual glitch

So sometimes my screen will be progressively overtaken by a field of black. "Usually" it's slowly being overtaken by this but i also had this happen where my screen just went black almost instantly after loading up my game. Basically it doesn't matter if i just booted the game up or played for 1-2 hours whether i am in a cutscene or exploring the world, it seems to be completely random but only during the actual gameplay. I can get rid of it by entering the menu instantly.

Latest drivers.
OS: Win 10
CPU: Ryzen 5900x
GPU: RTX 3080
RAM: 32 GB DDR4 3200 mhz
SSD: 970 Samsung Evo Plus
2560x1440 on max settings.
Occurs with&without DLSS and with&without HDR.
On live(not experimental) build.

Normally i'd say those are artifacts caused by overheating or overclocking the GPU but i actually undervolted mine and temps are fine. So no my PC is not overheating and that wouldn't explain this behaviour anyway when i boot the game up and this bug occurs. GPU is in the low 70s, CPU 55c ish, SSD 57C.


I ve also played for 2 hours straight once without this happening so it aint severe but it sure is weird. I have only found one guy on the forums so far with the same issue but far more severe:

Just submitted a ticket. Apparently this was also an issue back on the ps4/ps5 version for a couple of people.

Same problem here, just submitted a ticket.
Max settings.
RTX 3080
Ryzen 5900x
32 GB DDR4 3200mhz
M.2 SSDs
Temps are fine.
Reinstalled gpu driver, switched HDMI output. Messed with the settings, nothing seemed to help so far.

I have read that lowering Render Resolution to ~60% has helped several people. I have not yet had a chance to try it.

This is not cable or monitor problem, I have same issue. Also my temps are fine, It's a purely game related issue.

I hope they are aware of this problem and can fix it soon, for those who have this problem, the game is unplayable now.

Turn Atmospherics low. It worked me so far. Looks like some particle effects causing this.

Good to know. Can`t really test it tho since for me it is a rare thing.
Also sadly the support wasn`t very helpful so far. Telling me to verify my game files and to do a system scan.

Devs please Pin this problem [Black Screen Glitch]

After than v1.0.3 memory leak problem is solved but black screen glitch still exist. I've seen many users on the forum who have this problem like me. It's not about hardware, I see all the temperature values during the game and all of them normal. So far I just play with lowering the atmosphere setting as a workaround. The problem is exactly like this:

Verifying game files, updating drivers didn't fix anything. Hope you guys aware of this problem. Will there be an update for this issue?

Hello,

often it is due to bad overclocking. it could also come from an overheating on one of your components or your power supply which has a problem.

I don't think it's from the game (I'm not 100% sure).

Several years ago I had experienced the same problem on Farcry 2 and it came from my defective nvidia 9800GT.

Sadly no. All i got from the support was "Verify Game files" and "Run a System Scan". So the support was no help at all. Took em like 3 days to respond every time for pretty much a single sentence so i gave up. For me it wasn`t severe so i just didnt bother anymore, ignored the issue and kept playing.

I just started hitting this problem after updating my graphics drivers for a nvidia 1080ti. I don't remember the exact driver version when things were working, but the studio driver 526.98 and game ready driver 527.37 seem to hit this problem.

I'm going to try rolling back my driver
