Awesome game but short? [Spoiler Heavy]
Howdy,

I finished the story and also completed the hidden challenge of Muspelheim once. I'm glad I played on Hard (give me a challenge), it felt fair on most fights; I die here and there, but I don't get 1-shot for doing 1 mistake. While playing on that difficulty setting extended my playtime by a couple hours, I was really surprised when I got to Jotunheim and the game was over. I never realised that the fight with Baldur was the endgame boss. For me, he felt like a regular boss, if not a sub-boss since he was really easy.

In a way, this feeling (game was cut short) means that I was really enjoying the game, both story and gameplay wise. On the other hand, it feels like the ending fell flat. Freya having a meltdown and the way it was put into the fight was a bit unpolished and it didn't really make sense to me during the fight. Then the visit to Jotunheim left me with more questions and didn't close many from the story itself (at best, it vaguely answers them through the tapestry). While it sets up for a sequel nicely, it does makes this game's ending... unsatisfying? And talk about foreshadowing the sequel "ending" with the tapestry hidden behind the curtain.

Anyways, I still have Nilfheim + Valkyries to do, so some gameplay left for GoW, but anyone felt like it lacks 10-15 hours of storytelling and/or exploring the other realms that were locked by Odin?

Cheers!

I finished this game on my ps5 and I took my sweet time like I always do and I took over 30 hours to COMPLETELY finish the game... story quests, favours (side quests) and all. not a short game by any means

you'll add way more hours when you get to fighting the valkyries. prepare yourself to die quite a lot. once you've figured out their attacks and how to evade etc you're ok but they take time to kill.

Allright, I'm done with Nilfheim and the Valkyries (I was stuck home with the flu feeling as miserable as Kratos speaking to dwarves). After farming for 45 min on hard in Nilfheim, I unlocked the central chamber and saw how lame the grind was for that realm. Pure repetition with no real challenge, story or lore (there is a bit at first, but once you complete your first loop around, it's 100% grind/farm). So I elected to drop to easy for the first time on that playthrough and don't regret it. It made the whole process so much faster. I think you should be offered to pay mist echoes to shut down the Prince of Persia traps at some point. So tedious. I think I prefer Muspelheim despite all the long and awful wall scaling between arenas (bad warpgate placement imo).

Back on hard difficulty, I killed all valkyries with ease on first attempt, except the queen where I died on my first attempt, but nailed her on my 2nd run.

Sadly, no in-game timer that I could find and I tend to leave the game open when I'm afk (like prepping dinner and stuff). So while it shows >60hours to 100%, it was definitely shorter, probably 45-50 hours, which is short compared to games like Witcher 3.
