Mouse and Keyboard or Controller only?

Hello,

I was thinking of buying this game since it's on sale and i'm getting close to finishing Cyberpunk 2077 and need to find something to play after it.

I was wondering since this game was a play station port if it will run well on mouse and keyboard or is it only a controller game?

I know the game supports mouse and keyboard but is it a good experience. The dark souls series also supported mouse and keyboard and I did not like the game play because it wasn't designed around mouse and keyboard.

I use just M&K and haven't had too much of an issue, but it took me a little bit to get used to it. There's options to help change certain keybinds to make it easier; one of the changes I use is holding E on finishers instead of pressing the mouse wheel. Personally, the biggest problem I still have with M&K is when I need to quickly swap between shielding and aiming (since it's Q and L-CTRL respectively).

If you're used to M/KB it works just fine with M/KB. There isn't negative mouse acceleration or weird key combos (some button combos for controller can be mapped to number keys).

However, if you couldn't get Dark Souls to work for you with M/KB, I can't say for sure you will like it. For example, I am used to using F for heavy attack and right mouse for block in DS, and that translates perfectly to this game. Switching 'aim' from Q to Alt also helped a lot.

It works perfectly on KBM honestly and doesn't feel like it was a console exclusive whatsoever, as most console ports do.

Like any third/first person game with relies on accuracy, I always prefer a mouse. You can adapt to bad design as long as they didn't emulate it. Anyone who prefers a controller for this just refuses to adapt and cripples themselves.
