Do I lose Anchor of Fog every attempt?

So it's soooo damn hard to get a hold of one, and it's so hard to farm those Echoes of Mist, but the ultimate question is, do I need to feed the Tears all these every attempt? A Tear requires an Anchor and a zillion echo, so let's suppose I feed the Tear and die against the monsters that come out, do I need to feet ANOTHER ANCHOR and MORE ECHOES to even attempt another try on the same Tear!? Please tell me it's not true, because it'd be a nightmare.

Nah. Once you pay the cost of the tears, they stay accessible without paying again. You can test this by save scumming if you’re a very cautious person.

The gold chest inside the mini-boss room will always have an Anchor of Fog in it so long as you have 3000 mist echoes BEFORE you open that chest.

The 3000 mist echoes has to be the ones that you can lose, not 3000 mist echoes saved in your inventory.
