They'd be fools not to and in the near future start releasing games on both the PS5 and PC at the same time ,,,,, Otherwise they are leaving billions on the table for Microsoft and other Publishers for PC to snatch up
There is no longer any money in selling console hardware, it's a break even deal with the current generation. The money is in selling Games and Services and by catering to the PC Sony could potentially double the sales of their Games and possibly even their Services if they were to open them up to the PC like Microsoft has.
While they won't say it out loud because their Fanboys would throw a Hissy Fit they have been hinting at going that route in the future because you don't need a degree in business to realize Microsoft will bury them if they don't compete for the PC share of the Gaming Market which is bigger than Sony's console share> Now is the time to do it because there is practically no difference in a PS5 and an upper mid-range gaming PC meaning games will be much easier to port to PC once they drop support for the PS4
Steamspy is speculative yes. Private profiles don’t count to that number maybe Sony will soon announce the real numbers.
Im realy curious how many people bought the game on Epic Store.
That makes sense 2 million on PC 2 million on PlayStation 1 million on Xbox.
Stadia is trash. And yeah sales for Resident Evil Village on PC are higher than on XBOX.
Capcom make more money on Steam than on PS ever since Monster Hunter World, that's why Nintendo could afford to keep Monster Hunter Rise off PS, but could only afford to keep it off PC-Steam for 1 year.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 was also released on Steam because Capcoms fanbase here is too large to ignore now.
Steam spy is speculative in that the minimum number is just the number of public profiles that own the game, the number of actual owners is certainly more than that.
Those "AAA games on PC" aren't all RE8, those fanbases don't converge just because they're classed as "AAA games" lol.
It makes sense that RE8 sold more than 2 million on Steam, I thought you would be able to decipher that from what I wrote.
But then again, if those sales numbers are right, it's a bad thing, but if they're wrong, it's a bad thing too if you think about it. We should be worried either way.
