I really don't know, but it shouldn't be a problem, right? You probably don't have to pay anything to create an account there. Just create it to play the game, and never access it. Problem solved... I guess. 🤔

The game is completely blocked in my country, The Philippines. No work arounds

Steam is coming to xbox soon, I guess it is for xbox players to be not being able to play it on a different platform.

This is most likely Due to the Helldivers 2 Community Revolt they started doing this.

I think you're correct. I am still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mad at this. Yeah, PSN was required but there were so many workarounds to create the account without screwing up (except for Great Britain). And the games were available in all those blocked countries. Now we have forced PSN in SP titles and blocked Sony games in those 170+ countries. Are you happy people? And they called that "a victory over Sony?!?!". You guys ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up! Yeah, you can play HD2 without linking PSN account (just for now), but you've made everything worse for the rest of us. Where is your "we dive together or don't dive at all!" now?

A Ragnarok developer permanently banned me from the forum because I said it was stupid to make me sign up for a Sony console account to play a game on my steam account. Sony is going to inflate their numbers for active users whether or not people want the account.

Yes Ragnarok requires PSN. So if you are from unfortunate blacklisted countries by SONY u wont be able to play legitimately Ragnarok

You are seriously accusing a whole lot of people without valid arguments. You really think Sony wasn't about to do that anyways for their games? If you really believe so, you need a reality check. This was going to happen either way.

When GOW 2018 released Sony didn't have a grasp of how popular their games could be on PC. Now that they do they are free to make you create a PSN account for their games going forward. Simple as that.

Fast forward to when they sold Helldiver's 2 like crazy in all areas, tried to enforce making it a requirement, and then back tracking to where they said they were listening to the PC communities feedback and would reevaluate on how to release their games.

Fast forward a bit to GoT where they introduced the PSN overlay and stated that PSN is only required for accessing the multiplayer section of the game, but single-player would remain optional for a PSN account/linking.

Fast forward to today, and now they just make the same forced PSN requirement on all their games after all of that recent backlash, regardless if it's multiplayer or single player with not even an option of making the overlay an Opt-in feature.

They're literally going out of their way to NOT listen to the PC community and to do whatever it takes to limit their own PC sales globally.

All about the mighty shareholder dollar. They demand certain PSN subs so Sony are going to do whatever they can to make it happen. Big corp do not care about their consumer base, only the might power of the dollar.
