Well i am not surprised. This is the result from Helldivers 2 review bombing and removal of PSN requirement. People were celebrating they won, but in the end they didnt won anything.
They just made Sony mad and they made PSN account mandatory for all games instead of multiplayer only. And you should thank these stupid youtubers, because their hate campaign and drama they made, even tho Sony said before release that the game will require PSN account. And to think a lot of people follow these no lifers and worship them make me rly sad.

your wrong its wasnt a mandatory thing it was OPTIONAL untill month 3 in which they made it mandatory

No you are wrong here.
They said before release that Helldivers 2 will require PSN account to play it but because of technical issues they couldnt implement that "feature" at the time of release.
Now thanks to all drama these "people" on youtube made they removed PSN account requirement from HD2 but now every Sony game require PSN account even these that dont have any MP like GOW.

It was always listed as a requirement on the Steam store page...the devs just had it disabled until Sony was about to enforce them to use it.

Easy. They're not interested in profits. What they WANT is control.
Rather than just throw the games out to Steam freely and just rake in the cash, they want to tether it to their services in an attempt to lure people to go "Oh, I have a PSN, perhaps I should start using it more and actually buy a Playstation console or other Playstation products." Is their corporate "logic".

First Sony was like "no account will be required for our games", then went to "100% optional account", then "multiplayer will require an account" and now we are at "account always required".
Looks like I'll be skipping this one, unless they release it on GOG with no account requirement. The only forced accounts that I made were Steam for Darksiders 1, when I realised every PC game would require it eventually and BN account for Starcraft 2. I ignored every Ubisoft and EA game that required an account. If Sony wishes to join my ignore list - it's their choice. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

They want to scrape your data and sell it. That's all this is. They'll make more money selling your data to advertisers than they will off pc game sales.
