Valkyrie battles are just garbage

They have fairly predictable patterns and they telegraph most of their moves. Once you memorize their tells, get the timing down and you can do it!

Well, the Valkyries are meant to be challenging. Most of their moves are telegraphed pretty well though, so as long as you know which attack it is, it then comes down to timing. If you want an easy one to defeat, the one in Nfilheim is the easiest; I'd recommend getting the mist armor so you have as much time fighting her as possible.

In seriousness though, I died many times to each of the Valkyrie fights I've attempted, it's a matter of practice and learning their patterns as the others have said.

Ok, it has taken some grinding (of teeth), but I've managed to defeat all but two, including the final boss.

Only last valkyrie was crazy hard

I beat the Niflheim one first on the first try and it was the same for all but a few, Sigrun, the fire one, and Olrun.

Rules -
Parry, dodge, attack after they attack, the fight is in phases.
Shoot them whenever they float, keeps them from using devastating attacks
Fast runic attacks only.
Spartan Rage is for defense only, tap it on and use its invulnerability to save you from a mistake, then turn it off right away.
Use Ivaldi armor first, don't upgrade it, then upgrade Valkyrie armor and use it when it can get you at least level 7. You can still use the ivaldi part for the part you can't upgrade as much.

Don't think I died to any other than Sigrun more than 3 times on normal. Most I stomped without death pretty quickly.

People just need to learn to have patience and not expect a fight to be won through pure bonking.

All you have to do is to learn the patterns. It just becomes a more interesting QTE.

She strifes to the right? Dodge

She strifes to the left? Block

She blocks? Shield bash

She leaps? She flies? She summons meteors? Roll

Flies up and spins? Throw the axe

Flies up and spreads wings? Turn around

etc.

Until Sigrun, each encounter has a subset of abilities. That is done in order for you to learn their movement and how to counter it. When you get to Sigrun, you just have to put them together.

Learn each one's patterns. Upgrade your gear and equip the right enchantments for big stat boosts.

The issue is, u have to learn the patterns and how and if u can block the attacks. U cannot block attacks with a red circle! U can block attack with yellow circles. Thats the first u have to learn. And sure, u have to fail to learn. That is how the life works. Nobody can things out of nowhere...

Don't whine and learn...

PS: By the way, u don't have to beat the valkyries for the story. These are optional.
