Similar games?
This is the first game I’ve played like this and I loved it. I usually get 5-10ths into a game and get bored. I played this for 50hrs. If I could kill those Valkyries I’d go for 100%.

Did some DDGing and read Hellblade is similar. I loved that too,

But where next?

I’ve got Mortal Shell but it’s insanely difficult. I can’t even get one hit on the first bad guy I encounter. I tried for hours. It felt like the character was stuck moving on only two axis which made it awkward. I can’t be bothered with it. I read it’s a ‘souls like’ game, along with nioh (got that too), Seiko etc. I guess they are all tough.

So what’s similar to God of War and Hellblade in terms of genre, style and difficulty? I particularly like Hellblade because of simple controls, no upgrading weapons and armour, and not hugely open world. God of War world was about as much as my small mind can handle!

Thanks

humm... Everyone has a different opinions, I'm rarely shooter player ,I like medieval type games with traditional weapons. Skyrim with the hardest difficulty. Dark Souls 3 with the lowest difficulty level. The Witcher 3 with the hardest difficulty level. Each of these games have their differences....compared in my mind to God of War, Skyrim is an older game but has a NPC companion that you can leave at home a good story line and good music. Dark Souls 3 Is a greater challenge ,but you can co-op with a friend if needed , God of War and Dark Souls normal level is about the same to me. The Witcher 3 is a more open world, but a super storyline and great music made for the game, with NPC companions at times ,so time passes quickly. All medieval games want you to upgrade your armor and weapons in some way, as far as I know. Hope that helps. :whiterun::bonfire2::Geralt:

Thank you. I had another crack at Mortal Shell last night after posting this. It's still just as hard! Maybe I should try Witcher 3. I remember my girlfriend hogging the tv for months with that game... it's just the huge world that makes me apprehensive.

Oh, a bit of a warning, The Witcher series , gameplay wasn't up to par as Dark Souls series or God of War ,but in my mind just good enough, still the storyline is better than the T.V. series, following the books written closer to the author's intent.

You should definitely play Witcher 3. I was thinking Ryse - Son of Rome felt similar to this God of War. Not as polished though.

Thanks guys. I read not long ago that assassin’s creed gameplay changed from Origins… I couldn’t stand the first one so I might look at those again.

I ended up having another go at Horizon Zero Dawn. Turns out 40fps isn’t all that bad with this game so I’m working my way through that. The battles certainly scratch that God of War itch!
